| James POTTER was born in Withersfield,
Essex in 1799. He married Susan FREE (baptised 27th February 1803 at Shudy
Camps) at Castle Camps 14th December 1822. He was probably the first Potter
to live in Castle Camps.
William married Emily IVES (born 1831 in Castle Camps) on
April 6th 1851.
William
stayed in Castle Camps and in 1901 He was a Horseman on a farm in the
village.He was a widower with three daughters :- Sarah married
Walter PAGE of Haverhill at Castle Camps on 25th December 1875. They lived
in Haverhill in 1901 and had 5 children :- Mary married
Alfred FREEMAN of Castle Camps on 16th June 1877 in Leicester when they
were both 20 years old. It is , and probably always will be a mystery
why they both left Camps to live in Leicester. They had four children
and in 1901 were :- John married
Sarah HARBISHER of Sheriff Hutton in Yorkshire at Sheriff Hutton on June
22nd 1879.He worked as a High Road Labourer and in 1901 they still lived
in Sheriff Hutton and had six of their children living with them :- James stayed
in Castle Camps and married Emily SORRELL of Helions Bumpstead on 4th
June 1881 in Castle Camps. He was a Road Labourer and in 1901 they had
six children living with them :- Charles
moved to Plaistow in London and married Eunice. He was a Coal Trimmer
